HORTON PLAZA (a mall across from the Westgate Hotel)

Covering 15 city blocks, Horton Plaza is at the heart of downtown San
Diego's shopping and entertainment district. The neighborhood's best-known
attraction is the Horton Plaza shopping center, a five-story, colorful
open-air mall anchored by Nordstrom, Macy's and Mervyns. The mall is
also home to nearly 150 specialty shops, some restaurants, a movie theater
and the Lyceum Theatre, which hosts stage productions.
Horton Plaza shopping
center is bounded by Broadway on the north, G Street on the south,
First Avenue on the west and Fourth Avenue on the east. There's ample
parking in the mall's large garage, but at $4 an hour, it can get pricey.
(You can get three hours free with a purchase, or four hours free with
validation from a theater or restaurant. Buying a candy bar at Long's
Drugs in Horton Plaza, by the way, counts as a purchase.) There are two
entrances to the parking garage on Fourth Avenue and one on G Street.
